Episode 64 - Conte’s History

Spurs throw away a 2-goal lead against the bottom side in the league but the Spursyness is overshadowed by a spectacular Antonio Conte post-match rant to rival an angry Elio.

Speaking of angry Elio, there is plenty of that for you in this episode and with good reason as we look back at the Southampton result but also Conte's sensational comments, the context around them and his achievements (or lack thereof) as Spurs manager to date.

No Dave this week as he took a tactical week off to stay well clear of this mess - presumably also annoyed at us for not even taking care of Leeds' relegation rivals for him.

Could this be the end for Conte at Spurs? As you're reading this or listening to the episode, it may well already be. Where did it all go wrong, what have we learned and where do we go from here? With the writing on the wall, Elio and Dags consider who the board might/should appoint and what a new-look Spurs might look like come the new season.

Episode 63 - Sometimes Maybe Good, Sometimes Maybe Sh*t

The season is over! Or at least that's the view of many as Spurs go crashing out of their last cup after a disappointing display in the home leg versus Milan, leaving just CL qualification to play for to give us a chance to do better next time.

Dave and Dags fly Elio-less once again and do their best to fill the ranting void. As well as the defeat to Milan we also have a comfortable(ish) win over Forest at home to enjoy and a look ahead to an away fixture at Southampton that all Plus Davers are equally keen to see result in 3 points for Spurs.

The pod takes it's usual twists and turns as the team discusses succession planning for Conte with his departure looking inevitable and there's also an attempt to regain some perspective and remember why we put ourselves through this each week and what football is really about (hint: it's not trophies).

Episode 62 - Shoulda, Woulda, Cudicini

Spurs are rubbish again! Join the usual gang (a delirious Dags, a despondent Elio and a drunk Dave) as we reluctantly pick apart two straight away defeats after everything was looking so rosy. With so many questioning the club's priorities, we talk about the FA Cup, what it should mean, and whether we underestimated our tie with Sheffield United in the 5th round.

We also look ahead to the upcoming home games with AC Milan, as we seek to reach the quarters of the Champions League, and former European giants, Nottingham Forest next weekend.

Episode 61 - Like a Squirrel Marking a Gorilla

Another week, another win! Spurs extend their oddly impressive home run with another 3 points and another clean sheet - this time against struggling bogey team and all-round detestable outfit Chelsea FC.

Join us in an in-depth chat around the VAR drama just before half time which quickly spins out into a wider discussion of VAR and officiating in the game generally. Skipp fulfils a pre-season prediction from Dave by netting a thunderbastard to open his Spurs account in a lovely moment. Kane does what Kane does, Vio does what Vio does. Mount, Sterling and Ziyech all find their way into Elio's cross-hairs this week in a relatively rage-free outing from the man.

We also have quick previews of Wolves and Sheffield United to round things off as we start to allow ourselves to maybe dream, just a little, of FA Cup glory.

Episode 60 - Every Underdog Has His Day

A very un-Spurs-like, routine 2-0 victory over West Ham suddenly means we are no longer filled with horror and dread looking at the table and readying ourselves for the run in to the season. Join the usual trio as we look at another Emerson Royal goal as the Emerdemption continues - as well as a few other standout performers from Sunday's game. 

We then discuss how they can combine to dispose of a Chelsea team with just as much ease who, like West Ham, are having a poor season and also hate us just enough to potentially pull a performance from nowhere - unlike West Ham of course, against us they nearly always do. Calling Dr. Tottenham?

There's the usual foul language, obscene imagery and spontaneous attacks of character that have become the hallmarks of Season 2 of the PDP so we hope you take some sick pleasure in some of it. There's a small Challenge Elio to round things off with an unsung heroes theme.

Episode 59 - Be a Warrior in a Garden

Better late than never this week as the PDP runs it pretty close to the line to upload the latest episode before the West Ham game - the preview of which forms part of this week's show. Heaven forbid our predictions of a comfortable, routine victory on Sunday make us look stupid!

Join the team this week for a look back on two defeats, one in Leicester, one in Milan. We discuss (not for the first, nor last time) the problems inherent with our squad with plenty of individuals firmly in the crosshairs.

With rumours abundant about the fate of our manager, we go over the ups and downs of Conte and his managerial style as well as a certain reportedly magical potential successor and how he might put a spell on this underwhelming set of players.

Elio's language reaches all-time lows as Jamie O'Hara finds himself the chief recipient of his abuse, with Jack Grealish still reeling from his battering in the last episode.

Finally we talk about our rumoured takeover by Jahm Najafi and MSP Sports Capital and what that could mean for our beloved Spurs.

Episode 58 - The Harry Kane Episode

Harry Kane becomes our all-time leading goalscorer, overtaking the legendary Jimmy Greaves and gives us yet another home win over Man City in a great performance by the whole team.

Join us for yet another extended Harry Kane love-in as Elio and Dags Davelessly present you with a tribute to the great man himself (Harry, not Dave) and review the Man City match - complete with Elio letting his true feelings about Jack Grealish be known - and previews of Leicester and Milan.

We also have a couple of quick trips down memory lane we hope you might enjoy. Congratulations Harry - always one of our own.

Episode 57 - The Age of the Rage Baby

Dave returns to his usual remit of trolling, playing devil's advocate and making it all about Leeds this week as Elio makes a triumphant return to the show. In this week's episode we of course look back at our 4th round FA Cup triumph over Preston and assess our credentials for the competition as a whole in our eternal hunt for that elusive trophy.

We also have the small matter of Man City to address as that home leg of that league double header approaches, as well as a round-up of an increasingly bizarre transfer window and a Pedro Porro snapshot that is, no doubt, already outdated as you read this.

We take the half way point of the season as a chance to look back at a few pre-season hot takes that have been surprisingly accurate (with some notable exceptions that were clearly a little too spicy) and we have the long-awaited return of some Challenge Elio.

Episode 56 - Plus Dags

A slightly overdue episode with a twist this week! Elio gets rested after some stellar performances leaving Dave and Dags to discuss two recent results and two upcoming games as well as two incoming transfers (one confirmed and one looking likely at this moment).

Come and hear our analysis of the madness that was 5 goals in 20 minutes at the Etihad, a valuable win over Fulham and a look ahead to hosting Man City in a bid for revenge and our FA Cup tie with Preston.

As always, there is plenty of other nonsense on the agenda.

Episode 55 - It’s Not Magic, You Know

Welcome back you most loyal of Spurs fans, still taking an interest despite the season's latest and biggest heartbreak. Join the team as we perform the autopsy on our home NLD as Arsenal extend their lead over us and the rest of the league with a deserved 2-0 victory.

As if that wasn't enough pain, we of course have the first of two upcoming clashes with Man City to look at as well as a trip to Fulham. Elio questions whether Conte truly knows what he's doing and tells us what he would do differently (we hope you're listening Mr. Levy - #ElioIn).

We also bring you exciting news of our new blog - the Plus Dave Press - and we turn our attention back to happier times as we look back on the recently-concluded, sparkling career of a certain Gareth Bale.
