Season 1 Finale - Oh They’ve Done It!

Episode 33 - A House Became a Home

It's the penultimate episode of our debut season and we are in good spirits as we reminisce over a massive home win against those scumbags in red and white! Join us as we discuss both this win and the following one against Burnley courtesy of a Harry Kane penalty that left us within touching distance of 4th.

This week we actually recorded as Arsenal were taking to the pitch up at Newcastle, little did we know we were about to end the week in 4th by rights with only a point needed to secure Champions League qualification.

We look ahead to both our and Arsenal's remaining game and perhaps dare to dream about CL nights at our glorious new stadium next season, a stadium that just experienced perhaps its best atmosphere yet.

It's been an up and down season to say the least but just one week to go now - come on you Spurs!

Episode 32 - Dave, You Had One Job

Next up - it's the big one!

Join a new-look team this week as man-behind-the-scenes Petros debuts right between two huge fixtures as we look back at a respectable 1-1 draw at Anfield and ahead to the most crucial North London Derby in years.

With Dave's Leeds having failed to do us a kind favour by taking points off Arsenal and with Petros hoping to have a debut as successful as Danny Rose, the team, completed by Dags and Elio, looks ahead to a match that could potentially define our season.

Finally, Challenge Elio is an eventful one as ever, littered with errors, cries of corruption and lazy research - why break with tradition 32 episodes in to the season?

Episode 31 - Romero Equals Monster

The strike is over! This week the Plus Dave team returns (albeit Davelessly) as Spurs register several shots on target, including 3 that actually found the back of the net.

Join Dags, Elio, and Joe, looking back on the 3-1 victory over Leicester and the 0-0 at Brentford in the aftermath of Arsenal's win over West Ham that keeps the pressure well and truly on in the hunt for 4th.

As always, we look at the remaining fixtures and try to assess our chances of making the Champions League next season.

Finally, Joe takes on the unenviable task of challenging Elio solo in a packed trivia section, which includes a Son Heung-Min special round.

Episode 30 - What’s Spursier than Spurs?

Conte's high flying Spurs came crashing back down to Earth this weekend in truly uninspiring fashion thanks to a home defeat by Brighton - the scourge of North London. Thankfully our neighbours from Woolwich failed to capitalise on the glorious opportunity we handed them, keeping the race/crawl for the top 4 interesting.

Join a refreshed team including long-term absentee guest, Pricey, as we struggle to find highlights from a dour contest and look at where the result leaves us and our rivals for the run in to the season ahead as well as a glance at next opponents, Brentford, and an upcoming brush with an old hero.

With a Plus Dave member recently having welcomed a brand new Spurs fan to the world, the theme of this week's Challenge Elio is successful young players. We hope this episode is at least more exciting than the Brighton match!

Episode 29 - Stambouli or Bust

Another week, another truckload of Spurs goals for us to marvel at as a 4-0 win at Aston Villa puts us clear of Arsenal by rights in the hunt for that elusive 4th CL spot. The team is back to full strength this week as Dave makes a long awaited return along with Joe as we look at another successive Spurs victory and look ahead to Brighton on Saturday and the rest of our season.

Of course everyone's new hero Matt Doherty suffered an unfortunate season-ending injury at the hands of some good old-fashioned thuggery from Aston Villa so we discuss how this might impact our team heading into the business end of the season as well as whether robust tackles of this nature need closer scrutiny.

Challenge Elio is a particularly packed affair this week too with the themes including 'prolific front threes' and 'Spurs top goalscorers'.

Episode 28 - World’s Greatest Pundit

The team is down to the bare bones this week as only record appearance-maker Elio and host Dags get to enjoy reminiscing over Spurs' spectacular second-half demolition of Newcastle United this week.

Despite this, we give that wonderful performance all the admiration and analysis it deserves delivering expert analysis while simultaneously watching Arsenal lose 3-0 to Crystal Palace (well, at least it's not just us).

With this in mind we take an optimistic look ahead to not just our upcoming clash with Villa but also the rest of the season and a thrilling run-in to the top 4 race up against Arsenal and others.

Finally we have the result of some of our 'Spurs Legends' polls on Twitter following last week's discussion, some interesting listener observations on punditry (and Elio's footballing ability) and some rather one-sided Challenge Elio for good measure.

Episode 27 - The Men, the Myths and the Legends

For the first time ever the Plus Dave goes Daveless as the man himself takes a well-earned holiday. With no new game to look back on this week, the remaining team has a quick roundup of some of our performers on the international stage as well as those who were perhaps unlucky not to have been involved.

The main feature this week however is a discussion over what it means to be called a Spurs legend. Is it possible to tangibly define what makes a player a legend and what are the main criteria for achieving this often-overused label. We look at several examples and try to decide who does and doesn't make the cut - and why!

Joe also has his work cut out for him this week facing the unenviable task of challenging Elio without Dave by his side.

Episode 26 - F*ck You, We’re Tottenham Hotspur!

For the first time in a long time, the team has 2 Spurs victories to look back upon and analyse. Join us as we discuss the 2-0 win at Brighton and a crucial 3-1 victory over top 4 rivals, West Ham (not to mention a spectacular win for Leeds meaning it's a full house of happy fans for once!)

 

This week we take a closer look at a number of impressive individuals, vital in those results and take another look at the run in to the season from our new, slightly more encouraging viewpoint, with 9 games to go.

 

It's a particularly chunky edition of Challenge Elio this week too as the man himself takes on Joe and Dave in a series of puzzling trivia rounds following his record breaking efforts last week.

Episode 25 - Pygmalion’s Ultimate Unrequited Love

There's a load to get through this week as the Plus Dave team returns after a longer-than-usual spell on the sidelines. Join host Dags, reluctant Spurs enthusiast Elio and token Northerner Dave as we take a look back all the way to the Middlesbrough defeat in the FA Cup leading to a thumping 5-0 win over Everton and a return to losing ways at Old Trafford courtesy of old man Ronaldo.

We also look ahead to two big games in the league in struggling Brighton and top 4 (maybe top 5?) rivals, West Ham and look at the picture the league table presents.

Also in this week's show - Kane vs Henry, Wheels vs Doors, Challenge Elio and of course the results of our Football Manager 2022 simulation, throwing our combined Spurs/Leeds all time PL XI into this season to see how they got on.
