Episode 44 - Best Sub Since Stevie

The Plus Dave is back, Elio and Dave are back, Dags is back, Challenge Elio is back, Eric Dier is back in the England squad... and Son Heung Min is well and truly back in business, putting 3 cherries on top of a delightful win over struggling Leicester from the bench in an 8-goal epic.

We break down one of our biggest home wins in quite some time while also looking back on our first defeat of the season - a late loss to Sporting in the CL group stages - and ahead to the biggest game of the season so far, Arsenal at the Emirates.

With a provisional spot at the top of the league at stake, we size up our North London/Woolwich opponents, who have come flying out the blocks this season, and talk about how we can take points off them in early October.

Episode 43 - We’re Getting Better With Our Brazilians

A short and sharp podcast this week (by our rambling standards) as the team is reduced to just Dags and Elio - the best Spurs partnership since Son and Kane...

After the postponement of the Man City game we instead discuss our 2-0 victory over Marseille to get our CL campaign off on the right foot as well as the upcoming follow-up against early group leaders, a Marcus Edwards-spearheaded Sporting.

We also look ahead to the next PL game where Spurs welcome a struggling Leicester looking to try and turn their season around.

We discuss the ever-increasing brilliance of Richarlison and our bizarre-but-effective approach to possession and territory of recent matches as well as a look at some of the ancillary Spurs matters such as Lamela still being Lamela, Scarlett lighting up his loan spell at Portsmouth, Lucas' controversial political alignment and of course where a win against Leicester could leave us, given all the postponed games, next weekend.

Episode 42 - Gigantic Blonde Norwegian Monster

It's milestone for the Plus Dave this week for a couple of reasons - one of which being it's the first episode ever not to contain any Elio! Just like Kulusevski, after a string of flawless performances, Elio gets a well-deserved rest this week as Dags is joined by a tag-team of Daves - Leeds Dave and Dave "Pricey" Price who have a lot to get through in this week's show.

Not only does the team dissect back-to-back Premier League ties with West Ham and Fulham but there is also a preview of the Champions League opener against Marseille and the massive one at the Etihad next weekend where Spurs will be trying to repeat a famous away victory from last season's visit to champions Man City (and somehow stop the goalscoring machine that is Erling Haaland and his band of world class buddies).

Episode 41 - C**thousery

The Plus Dave Podcast is minus a Dave this week as our resident Leeds fan takes a well-earned trip to Disneyland so, just to annoy him, we brought in a Man Utd fan to take his place as our token neutral for the week.

Enter veteran listener and archetypal London-based Man Utd fan born in the 80s, Charles Stewart, who joins Dags and Elio to look back on another Spurs win, two Harry Kane goals and Richarlison being Richarlison.

We also discuss our CL group, our upcoming fixtures against West Ham and Fulham as well as a few transfer rumours circling Twitter and beyond. This all punctuated by some truly appalling language and cutting-edge analysis (as ever) and rounded off by another game of Challenge Elio, this week with a Spurs-Man Utd theme.

Episode 40 - The Wolf Climbing the Hill is Hungrier

Spurs and Leeds are fighting for the title! There's also the small matter of Arsenal in the way of course but this week, Elio and Dave discuss why Spurs are (obviously) going to catch them and finish above them by the end of the year.

With a struggling Liverpool side also in our crosshairs you'd better believe it's time for another ill-advised discussion about out title credentials that may very well come back to bite us hard.

But first we take a look at a scrappy and hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolves courtesy of a Gio Vio masterclass. We take a look ahead to Forest away next week and also the upcoming Champions League draw (we can't wait to see who Arsenal get).

Also in this week's episode - is it time for Richarlison to get a start over a faltering Son? The winner of our Royal Rumble is announced, there's a shock in Challenge Elio and Elio creates his perfect Frankenstein's monster of a Spurs player combining the best attributes of players, past and present.

Episode 39 - A Gentle, Affectionate Tug

Scandal, tantrums, last minute drama - and that's just this week's episode!

Welcome back for another Plus Dave Podcast where we look back over the lunacy and the drama of the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, all the wonderful controversy and ridiculousness, and try to find space to actually talk about the football as well as why we don't care that we robbed Chelsea of 2 points. Spoiler: it's because we hate Chelsea.

Just like last season, the Plus Dave Podcast gets off to a flying start as we look back on a convincing home win over Southampton, propelling us to a spot which certain people are starting to suggest Spurs could just make their own - dare we say it?

We talk title credentials and what separates us from the likes of City and Liverpool and indeed our next opponents, Chelsea, at Stamford Bridge - a ground that has not given us many happy memories over the years. We discuss why this time could be different and pinpoint a handful of early shining lights in our squad - including a particularly precocious young Swede.

The bizarre metaphors are flying out of Elio's mouth this week but, if that wasn't enough, he also takes the reins on his very own, hotly contested edition of Challenge Elio to round off our season opener in style...

Episode 37 - It’s The Hope That Kills You

We are back! Join us for the first official episode of the new season after a well-earned Summer break. It's back to business as Dags, Dave and Elio (taking precious time out of his holiday) summarise Spurs' pre-season efforts with a particularly close eye on the new boys and how they seem to be settling in.

We make our best attempt at predicting our starting XI against Southampton and how that game might go and we look ahead to our first few fixtures and whether we can give ourselves a strong start in our push to improve upon last season's 4th spot.

Finally, Dave and Elio make a series of predictions for the season, from the basics like - 'where will we finish?' and 'who will be our player of the season?', to the more obscure like 'will Kane score a free kick?' and 'who will score a thunderbastard?'

This is all rounded off with some general hot takes ahead of the season that we can look back on in months to come. Off to a strong start, let's hope Spurs can do likewise and we hope you enjoy us being back!
